Italian guest appearance at Holberg’s manor
On the great 300th anniversary celebration of Danish theater-tradition and writer Ludvig Holberg – Mario Pirovano performs Holberg and Dario Fo at Tersløsegaard, Denmark.
On 17 July 2022, the Italian actor Mario Pirovano visit Tersløsegaard and perform excerpts from Ludvig Holberg’s ‘Jeppe on the Hill’. This ends the ring and Holberg is taken back to the Italian roots and commedia dell arté, from which he drew inspiration for his comedies.
In addition to Holberg, Pirovano will also play Dario Fo’s monologue ‘Zanni’s hunger’, which is about the poor man who suddenly sees himself lifted up in fairytale opulence, but suddenly has to face the fact that it was all just a beautiful dream – an illusion.
The celebration of Ludvig Holberg and the 300th anniversary of the birth of Danish theater-tradition takes place in the unique setting of Tersløsegaard – the only Holberg-residence preserved to this day. Ludvig Holberg bought Tersløsegaard in 1745 and used the place as summer residence.
